| It is interesting that this Al Foss ad states that his minnows are not a "Tin Lizzie" proposition, but are made to endure rough usage. Since the first time I saw this ad , I wondered if Al's derogatory reference toward a Tin Lizzie was simply a reference to Henry Ford's Model T or was he taking a preemptive strike at fellow Tournament Caster Fred Arbogast's up and coming new bait the Tin Liz. This ad is from a June ,1924 issue of The Scientific Angler published by N.A.S.A.C. and the earliest Arbogast Tin Liz advertisement I've heard of is from 1928. It makes me wonder. |
